  • After entering Hash-ID/Password and Logon button will transfer control to passcode entry screen.
  • CBPV generate an email to the user that contains the eight character passcode. This email address is associated with the users CBP Vetting profile account.
  • CBPV support two factor authentication integration with the addition of an eight character passcode that will be entered on a separate window.
  • The email include the date timestamp of when it was created. The entry in passcode screen must match the access token sent in the email.

  • If the time limit for entry of the passcode has expired and the user has not exhausted all five attempts to enter the passcode, the user can reinitiate the logon process with a new passcode generated and use the remainder of the attempts to gain access to the system.
  • The user has 5 attempts within the fifteen minute window to enter a passcode that exactly matches the system generated authentication token.
  • On the fifth failed attempt, the user CBP Vetting account is placed in Locked status and an error message is sent. If account has been locked out a message will also appear on the CBP Vetting Logon screen.
